Two people were rushed to hospitals with life-threatening injuries Monday after gunfire and a separate vehicle strike rocked northeast Charlotte, according to city paramedics. One victim suffered a gunshot wound, while another person at the scene was hit by a car and also transported in critical condition. The violence unfolded in the University City area and drew a large emergency response from MEDIC and Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
According to a report from Queen City News, MEDIC crews were dispatched to the 1700 block of Harris Houston Road near University City Boulevard, where they found multiple people with life-threatening injuries. The outlet reported that two people were taken to hospitals with critical injuries, and another person who was struck by a vehicle required urgent transport.
