MPD sergeant sues dept. over suspension from social media comments

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A sergeant with Memphis Police Department filed a lawsuit against his employer following a suspension over comments he made on social media.

Brandon Lea filed the suit in February after he was suspended for 15 days without pay.

Lea claims he was disciplined for the comment not because it disrupted MPD operations or impaired his job performance, but because MPD disagreed with the viewpoint…
