Wind-Whipped Mobile Home Inferno Leaves Four Units Charred In North Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. – A massive fire tore through a North Tampa mobile home park Tuesday afternoon, destroying or damaging at least four homes as wind and dry conditions helped the flames jump between structures.

Tampa Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to the 10100 block of N. Florida Ave. at 12:35 p.m. When the first engines arrived on the scene, they found a single mobile home completely engulfed in heavy smoke and flames. The fire was so intense that commanders immediately called for a second alarm, bringing in more manpower to battle the blaze and protect the surrounding neighborhood.

“The intensity of the fire, the multiple exposures, and dry weather and wind conditions” prompted the need for additional resources, fire officials said…
