SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Authorities across the region are warning the public about a recent text scam going around involving fake court notices.
Residents have reported receiving text messages with letters that look like an official South Dakota Traffic Division Court Notice.
The notice threatens license suspension, collections, and has a QR code for recipients to “pay immediately.”
Agencies such as the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office are reminding the public not to scan the QR code, send money, or contact any of the numbers listed on the notice…
