CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A No Swim Advisory was issued for a Lake Wylie cove Tuesday following a sewage spill on the Mecklenburg County side of the water.
The alert is for the area near Old Oleandor Drive and MacGregor Lane in the Palisades community after more than 69,000 gallons of wastewater reached the cove. City officials are asking for residents and pets to avoid this area until further notice.
Charlotte Water officials say a pipe failure at a lift station caused the overflow. The amount of wastewater involved has not been disclosed.
