City of Dayton to host free event offering residents housing services and financial guidance

Dayton, Ohio – Dayton residents will soon have a chance to connect directly with key housing resources and support services during a community-focused event designed to bring help, guidance, and information under one roof. The upcoming Housing Resource and Connection Fair is set to take place on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greater Dayton Recreation Center, located at 2021 W. Third Street. Organizers have made the event free to attend, ensuring that all community members can participate without barriers.

The fair is being organized through a strong partnership that includes the Human Relations Council, Sinclair College Sociology Department, the Dayton Tenant Union, and the Miami Valley Fair Housing Center. Together, these groups aim to create a welcoming environment where residents can learn about housing options, understand their rights, and find support for ongoing challenges.

Connecting residents with vital housing support

The event is designed in an open-house format, allowing attendees to move freely between different booths and conversations. This setup gives residents the opportunity to speak directly with tenant advocates, legal aid providers, and fair housing organizations. In addition, programs that assist individuals returning to the community after incarceration will also be present, offering another layer of support for those in need.

A major focus of the fair is education. Attendees will be able to access helpful information about tenant rights, eviction prevention, and financial literacy. For those looking toward long-term stability, there will also be guidance on pathways to homeownership, helping residents better understand how to move from renting to owning a home…
