First Alert Weather: Gusty winds, large hail possible late Friday night; another storm threat returns Monday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAYS: We’re declaring a First Alert Weather Day for late Friday into Saturday morning. Forecast guidance continues to signal strong gusty winds, and large hail is possible. The Storm Prediction Center has west and northwest Alabama under a level 1 of 5 risk for severe storms on Friday.

Another First Alert Weather Day has been declared for Monday, April 27th. West and northwest Alabama are under a level 2 of 5 for strong storms. The main concerns will come from damaging winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado. This is your First Alert to plan ahead!

With the 2011 anniversary approaching, remember that was a generational event — and every severe weather setup is different. This is the peak severe weather season in Alabama, so threats will pop up from time to time.
