SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Tenants displaced from Nob Hill’s Building 3 after a deadly fire in February are a step closer to retrieving their belongings after a judge ordered the complex to allow residents back inside to get their possessions. But, tenants say they still have little clarity on when that will happen — and whether the building is safe.
Residents forced out after the Feb. 28 fire say getting back into the building has felt nearly impossible. For many, it’s not the expensive items left behind but personal belongings with meaningful value.
“It’s sentimental stuff in there that I need now. Like my father’s pipe set — my father passed away a little over a year ago — it’s stuff like that that I want. I don’t even care about furniture. They need to let us get our stuff,” tenant Melissa O’Hare said…
