Hillsborough Co. woman cuts ribbon on brand-new home after losing her house to fire

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Hillsborough County homeowner cut the ribbon to her new home on Tuesday after losing her previous home to a fire.

Through the Affordable Housing Program with Rebuilding Together Greater Florida and Hillsborough County, this dream was made into a reality.

Virginia Williams’ home caught fire in 2024, and she lost absolutely everything. Walking in her new home, she said she is overcome with joy at her brand-new home that’s filled with things like cleaning supplies and a stock-filled fridge, thanks to Feeding Tampa Bay.

After the fire took everything, Williams said she never thought the day would come where she would be able to be home again…
