Sensory Night Hike: 7:45-9 p.m. Thursday, May 14, Hammel Woods – Route 59 Access, Shorewood. Explore the forest after dark on a guided hike designed to test your senses under a nearly new moon. The hike will be up to 1.5 miles on paved and natural trails. Ages 7 or older; free. Register by Wednesday, May 13.
Where the Wildflowers Are – O’Hara Woods: 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, O’Hara Woods Preserve, Romeoville. Search for spring wildflowers and learn the stories, uses and lore behind these fleeting blooms on a guided hike. The hike is about 2 miles on natural surfaces with some hills.
