Spokane Valley, Wash. — Spokane Valley City Council members are discussing new details on a proposed ice rink, including a long-term lease and more than millions of dollars in city-funded infrastructure work.
Most of the facility would be built through money secured by a private donor and operated by Ignite Youth Ice LLC, but the city would still need to secure the land and pay for the infrastructure needed to support the project.
The ground lease agreement would make Spokane Valley responsible for installing and maintaining that infrastructure. The cost is estimated at just more than $3 million and the money would come from city lodging taxes…
