Central Valley to get 3 new state parks as Gov. Newsom says ‘No’ to gas tax pause

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — Governor Gavin Newsom marked Earth Day Wednesday with the announcement of three new California State Parks in the Central Valley, while also drawing a firm line on one of the state’s most debated policy questions, the gas tax.

Speaking alongside First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom and state and local leaders, the governor unveiled new park sites in Fresno, Yuba, and Kern counties as part of what officials are calling a historic expansion of California’s park system.
