Montgomery County police released a summary of reported incidents from April 21, 2026, highlighting cases across multiple districts, including a weapons offense involving a juvenile, several vehicle thefts, and a reported hate/bias incident at a local high school.
In the 1st District, which covers areas including Rockville and parts of Potomac, officers responded to a weapons offense at 1:01pm in the 14600 block of Falling Leaf Way. A loaded handgun was recovered from a juvenile’s residence after reports that a firearm had been posted on social media. The student was taken into custody.
In the 2nd District, which includes Bethesda and Chevy Chase, a police impersonation incident was reported on April 16 at 9:42pm near Connecticut Avenue and West Irving Street. A driver was pulled over by a vehicle equipped with police-style lights, but the operator did not identify themselves, provide credentials, or issue a citation. The driver was allowed to leave, and the incident remains under investigation. Two auto thefts were also reported in the district on April 21, one between 6:08pm and 7:10pm in the 7900 block of MacArthur Boulevard and another between 8:25pm and 8:59pm in the 4800 block of Boiling Brook Parkway.
