BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Former band coach, Salvador Fabian, and Kern High School District are being sued by a “Jane Doe” who alleges she suffered months of grooming and sexual abuse by Fabian at Del Oro High School in Bakersfield.
According to a release, the complaint names the Kern High School District, school administrators, and band staff, alleging “systemic failures that allowed the abuse to occur on campus and during school-sponsored activities.”
According to the lawsuit, Fabian targeted Jane Doe beginning in September 2025. According to the release, the complaint details a pattern of grooming behavior, including favoritism, private messaging, gifts, and repeated efforts to isolate the student from her peers. “The conduct escalated into sexual abuse, including unlawful sexual acts that occurred on school grounds, as well as in a vehicle parked in the faculty parking lot,” said in a release…
