Kaiser Permanente to host drug take back, recycling event

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Kaiser Permanente is set to partner with law enforcement for a free drug take back and recycling event Saturday.

The event is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 25 at the Kaiser Permanente Ming Medical Office located at 8800 Ming Ave.

During the drive-thru service event, community members can drop off the following items:

  • Expired and unwanted medications
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Paper for shredding (please remove staples and paper clips)
  • Gently used sports equipment
  • Eyeglasses and hearing aids
  • Clothing and furniture
  • Electronic waste
  • Used books
  • Power wheelchairs and power scooters
  • Manual wheelchairs and rollators (seated walkers)

Officials with Kaiser Permanente said the site is not accepting liquids, needles or batteries…
