Officer suspended for 2 days after video shows West Charlotte student body slammed amid fight

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer was suspended for only two days after he used excessive force and violated department policy for slamming a female student last fall.

On Friday Oct. 31, 2025 an officer Husan Rogers was seen in a video slamming a female student to the ground at West Charlotte High School. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police opened an internal and criminal investigation into his actions.

WBTV learned on Wednesday, April 22, that officer Rogers was suspended for only two days without pay following the internal investigation. Rogers was also removed as the school’s resource officer…
