Crash near South Whitley knocks out power for 500+

WHITLEY COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) – Northeastern REMC says a crash in southern Whitley County has knocked down power lines, causing an outage for hundreds of customers on Wednesday morning.

The electric company shared a notice about the outage on its Facebook page around 9:40 a.m.

They say the crash happened at the intersection of State Road 5 and County Road 700 South, south of South Whitley. They say the crash led to downed power lines, knocking out power for nearly 550 people…
