San Ramon retail center bought in deal that hints at rising values

SAN RAMON — Gateway Centre in San Ramon was bought in a deal that suggests investors still hunger for Bay Area retail hubs with merchants that offer everyday items.

At 21001 San Ramon Valley Blvd., it was purchased by an affiliate linked to Bay Area real estate executive Bill Poland for $47.8 million, documents filed on April 14 with the Contra Costa County Recorder’s Office show.
