Second death in two days reported on UC Berkeley campus

For the second time in 48 hours, authorities at UC Berkeley are investigating a death on campus grounds, university officials said Wednesday.

The latest discovery occurred shortly after noon, when university staff found a man’s body in the bushes adjacent to Sproul Hall, the campus’ administrative hub. The site sits just east of Sproul Plaza, a historic center of student activity on the university’s south side.

The University of California Police Department said the man did not appear to be affiliated with the university. While an investigation is ongoing, police noted there were no immediate signs of foul play. The Berkeley Scanner first reported the discovery…
