Fifth annual Solarize Louisville launches

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – As Louisville officials continue expanding solar energy in the region, on Earth Day 2026, Mayor Greenberg’s administration announced their 5th annual “Solarize Louisville” campaign.

It’s an incentive to give homeowners, small businesses, non-profits and places of worship bulk-purchasing power so they can get discounted wholesale rates for solar installation. One of those places is Bardstown Road Presbyterian Church.

Installed just weeks ago, there are 30 solar panels that sit on part of the roof. They were put in place as a part of the 2025 Solarize Louisville program. They’re part of a group of 38 total solar panels on the church. Eight others were installed seven years ago. Officials with the church said the panels offset 30% of their energy bill…
