Speeding ticket lands former Mobile officer back in jail while facing homicide by vehicle charge

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A former Mobile police officer charged with killing a motorcyclist is back behind bars — after getting a speeding ticket while out on bond.

Roy Adams Jr. was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail Wednesday. A Mobile County Circuit Court judge had issued a warrant for his arrest on April 17th, finding he violated the terms of his bond. He is now being held with no bond.

The ticket that triggered the revocation was issued on January 22nd of this year. A state trooper clocked Adams doing 82 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone on I-10 westbound near Exit 17A in Mobile County. According to court records, Adams pleaded guilty to the charge on March 31…
