If you have been enjoying the mild spring weather we have had lately, do not get too used to it. The Old Farmer’s Almanac has released its long-range summer forecast, and the news for Massachusetts is pretty straightforward: it is going to be hot.
The almanac, which has been predicting long-range weather patterns since 1792, says temperatures across the Bay State are expected to trend hotter than normal this summer. And it is not just us. Much of the eastern United States is in the same boat, with the almanac pointing to a broad pattern of above-normal heat stretching across the South and East.
On top of the heat, Massachusetts can also expect things to be drier than usual. The almanac says rainfall across much of the East is expected to come in below normal, and Massachusetts fits that pattern. June and late July are specifically called out as periods when both the heat and the dryness will be most noticeable. –aol.com…
