CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids has agreed to pay the Department of Health and Human Services more than 14.8 million as part of a settlement over a civil penalties law.
Mercy allegedly violated the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. The hospital told the government it may have broken the law regarding an outpatient surgery center and doctors who own part of it.
