North Little Rock Mayor Terry Hartwick presents proclamation for The Long Road Home Project Day

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – North Little Rock Mayor Terry Hartwick joined the horseback riders of The Long Road Home Project to present a proclamation Wednesday morning.

The Long Road Home Project is a group of people who are traveling on horseback from northwest Arkansas to the state capital in Little Rock, carrying letters from those impacted by the foster care system.

Group rides horseback from Bentonville to Little Rock to deliver letters on foster care

Their goal is to raise awareness for foster families, children and workers throughout Arkansas by delivering those letters to Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and lawmakers.

After traveling more than 220 miles across the state, Hartwick joined the riders to officially proclaim April 22, 2026, as The Long Road Home Project Day…
