Ada County residents asked to clear storm drains, report hazardous flooding

BOISE, Idaho — Idahoans are asked to help as rain continues in the Treasure Valley, bringing slick roads and the potential for standing water across Ada County.

Drivers are urged to slow down, turn on headlights, and never drive through standing water. Flooded areas can be deeper than they appear and may conceal debris.

Puddles are common during storms, but large or hazardous amounts of standing water should be reported to the Ada County Highway District (ACHD).

  • Business hours (8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.): 208-387-6100 or ACHD Connect
  • After hours: Contact non-emergency dispatch at 208-377-6790

Residents can also help prevent localized flooding by clearing leaves and debris away from storm drains. ACHD says to use a rake to clear the area, but never remove the grate or the filter fabric underneath. To find nearby storm drains near you, visit ACHD’s storm drain map…
