TACOMA, Wash. — Two westbound lanes of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge are closed after crews found damage to the bridge on Tuesday, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
While making other repairs, crews discovered “deterioration” on a structure supporting the joint under the two right lanes of traffic on the westbound side. The two right lanes will remain closed around the clock and possibly through the weekend, WSDOT said.
The two left lanes of westbound traffic remain open and safe to drive over.
Officials are asking travelers to limit their travel over the bridge and to slow down when near road construction sites…
