Power outages: Nearly 12,000 FirstEnergy customers in Northeast Ohio lose power

(WJW) — Nearly 12,000 FirstEnergy customers in Summit County lost power on Thursday morning, April 23, according to the utility.

The outages were almost entirely resolved by 10 a.m.

The vast majority of the power outages were in Akron, accounting for about 5% of the utility’s customer base in the county, according to the utility’s outage map.

Cleveland Public Power also reported more than 1,100 power outages in the southern portion of the city’s Ward 15 along Interstate 90; more than 400 outages between Wards 8 and 10; and about 10 outages in the northern portion of Ward 11.
