Walker County is among 126 counties across Georgia now designated as primary natural disaster areas due to ongoing drought conditions.
The designation was announced by the Georgia Department of Agriculture in coordination with the United States Department of Agriculture. The Secretarial Disaster Declaration makes eligible farm operators in affected counties—and those in nearby counties—able to apply for emergency loan assistance through the Farm Service Agency, provided they meet eligibility requirements.
