When Ismail Topal and Segvan Bilen opened their Turkish restaurant in mid March, they didn’t anticipate it to be immediately popular. Tucked away in a South Hill strip mall at 2630 E. 29th Ave., the soft opening of Anatolia Grill was anything but soft.
“I love [the] South Hill community,” Topal says. “Great word of mouth [here]. First day, we didn’t need advertising.”
People packed the small space, a former Pizza Hut, that has four tables for dine-in eating. Regardless of whether you’re ordering to-go or not, it’s all served in takeout boxes.
