Portage County drug unit targets traffickers on turnpike, local freeways

PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) — High-speed chases, drugs thrown from moving cars and deputies with guns drawn — it’s happening on the same roads drivers use every day in Portage County.

The Portage County Sheriff’s Office created the PACE unit in late 2021 to confiscate drugs before they hit the streets.
