LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities believe a body found in Lake Murray on Thursday is that of a woman who went missing a day earlier, Lexington County officials confirm.
The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said the woman was originally reported missing by her husband on Wednesday, and he said that their car was gone. The report stated that she may have been showing signs of dementia but had not been diagnosed.
Investigators put out an alert asking local law enforcement to be on the lookout for the missing vehicle. Authorities found the car in a parking lot at 2101 North Lake Drive, near the Lake Murray Dam North Recreational Area, shortly after.
