Detroit man convicted of Fenton-area Facebook Marketplace murder

FENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) – A Detroit man will spend the rest of his life in prison after he was convicted of killing a man in Fenton Township during a Facebook Marketplace transaction gone bad.

A Genesee County jury found 29-year-old Omar Brogdon guilty Thursday of felony murder, second-degree murder, armed robbery and three counts of using a firearm while committing a felony for a deadly shooting discovered on July 6, 2024.

Brodgon killed 38-year-old Orhan Hosic at his residence near the intersection of Jennings and Linden roads. Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said Hosic’s body was found with multiple gunshot wounds at the bottom of the stairs in the garage…
