Sheriff: Woman charged weeks after 40+ dogs rescued from Spring Twp. home

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Weeks after dozens of dogs were rescued from a home in Spring Township, the Centre County sheriff’s office has formally filed charges against a Bellefonte woman.

Investigators say 56-year-old Denise Krape is accused of neglecting to care for the animals, many of which were found emaciated and severely flea-infested at her Axemann Road home in early March.

According to the affidavit, police say Krape reportedly contacted authorities in late February, requesting that law enforcement come to her home so she could surrender ten of the dogs…
