Louisville restaurants jockey for customers after Oaks race cuts into dinner reservations

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – In previous years, the three days of Derby weekend fine dining would bring Volare Italian Ristorante triple its normal business.

But this year for Oaks, Volare is opening its doors at 4:30 p.m., hoping for a flock of early birds.

“With those earlier seatings starting to fill up with the great locals that have supported us for so many years, I think we’re still going to have a solid Friday night,” Volare Executive Chef Joshua Moore said. “Just different, a little bit different than normal.”…
