DEBARY, Fla. (WFLA) — Body camera video from Wednesday shows a Florida man kicking a deputy during his arrest in connection with reports that he drove without a tire after he “rammed” multiple vehicles on I-4, according to authorities.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to multiple reports of hit-and-run crashes involving a “reckless driver” on I-4 in Seminole County, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
An individual sent a video of the truck to authorities as it exited I-4 without a front tire after the driver hit a guardrail.
The truck was stuck at a construction site near Shell Road in DeBary when Volusia County deputies approached the driver and passenger, according to VSO.
The driver, Eric Drewry, “appeared to be under the influence” and resisted arrest, VSO said. Body camera footage shows Drewry kicking a deputy while he was escorted into the back of a patrol vehicle.
