TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) — The Taunton man accused of setting fire to an apartment building where he lived told officers he did so to avoid being tortured, according to authorities.
Jeffrey Powers, 47, has been charged with arson of a dwelling and is being held without bail pending a psychiatric evaluation.
