Tallahassee man indicted on federal drug and firearm charges

TALLAHASSEE, Florida — Christopher Lamar Daniels, a 47-year-old resident of Tallahassee, has been indicted on federal charges related to drug trafficking and firearm possession.

Daniels faces charges of possession with intent to distribute multiple controlled substances, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. He appeared in federal court for his arraignment before United States Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick in Tallahassee.

A jury trial is scheduled for June 15, 2026, at 8:15 a.m. before District Court Judge Robert L. Hinkle in Tallahassee. If convicted, Daniels faces a minimum mandatory prison sentence of 10 years and up to life imprisonment on the drug possession count, with an additional consecutive five years for carrying a firearm during a drug-trafficking crime.
