CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (IOWA’S NEWS NOW) — The former principal of Cedar Rapids Prep is pleading not guilty to two harassment charges after he was accused of threatening to kill someone last month.
Justin Blietz, 41, entered his plea on Thursday ahead of a hearing scheduled for Friday. Blietz, who was officially fired this month as principal of CR Prep, is charged with first-degree harassment after allegedly telling a woman he was going to “slit your throat and watch you die” in March. Earlier this month, a third-degree harassment charge was filed in the case for allegations of a seven-week span of harassing comments, texts, and calls against the same woman.
Court records also show Blietz is now under a protective order that requires him to keep his distance from the victim until mid-April 2027. He also has a contempt hearing scheduled for May. He’s been out on bond since shortly after his arrest in March…
