EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A Bel-Air High School senior cemented her status as one of the best wrestlers in the nation with another award under her belt.
Cydeny Davis was crowned the Texas winner of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame’s prestigious Tricia Saunders High School Excellence Award.
According to the news release by Ysleta Independent School District, the award is presented to a female high school senior athlete who “demonstrates excellence in wrestling, academics and citizenship or community service.”
Additionally, Davis was also named the 2026 Class 5A Girls Wrestler of the Year by the Texas High School Coaches Association. She has helped lead her team to a bronze medal finish, the school’s first podium appearance in recent years…
