LUBBOCK, Texas — Three people were arrested Wednesday, April 22 after officers with the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at the Executive Inn, located in the 4400 block of Avenue Q at approximately 7:15 p.m.
Valerie Torres, 36, Markquis Tates, 34 and Joe Ramirez, 42, were all arrested at the Executive Inn. Torres was arrested on two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence. Tates was arrested on two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Possession of a Firearm. Ramirez was arrested on one count of Evading Arrest and one count of Resisting Arrest.
According to affidavits obtained by EverythingLubbock.com, Tates was located inside of the room when Lubbock County SWAT entered the room to execute the search warrant. Tates was laying on the bed next to an end table.

During the execution of the search warrant, officers found a clear, plastic bag containing white crystals was found, as well as a safe placed on a nightstand next to the rooms bed. Inside the safe, officers located another plastic bag containing four blue pills marked with the letter “M” on one side and “30” on the other side, as well as Tates’ IS, a 380-caliber handgun…
