Sherrone Moores Mistress Shares Heartbreaking Loss After Affair Scandal

Additional Coverage:

Paige Shiver, who had a years-long affair with former Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore, has opened up emotionally about a devastating pregnancy loss resulting from their relationship. Shiver, once a staff member at Michigan, revealed that she was diagnosed with Pompe Disease, a rare genetic disorder, leading doctors to advise terminating the pregnancy for her health.

In her first public interview on Good Morning America, Shiver detailed the painful unraveling of their relationship. Moore was dismissed from his coaching position in December after the affair came to light.

Shortly afterward, he was arrested on charges including alleged home invasion and threatening behavior directed at Shiver, who was identified as the woman involved in the affair. Moore ultimately avoided jail time by entering a no-contest plea to misdemeanor charges related to trespassing and misuse of telecommunications in a domestic context.

Shiver shared the emotional toll of her pregnancy loss, stating, “Multiple doctors and experts told me that it wouldn’t be right or healthy for me to keep the baby.” She recounted Moore’s response, quoting him as saying, “You have to do what’s right for your body.”

Following these events, Shiver left the university and remained out of the public eye until now. Reflecting on the relationship, she admitted, “I did [love him], but obviously looking back at things and really reflecting on what happened, what was happening … It’s not love at all.”

Moore’s firing ended his $5.5 million annual contract and one of the most prominent coaching roles in college football. Prosecutors stated that Moore broke into Shiver’s Pittsfield Township home just hours after being fired.

As part of his sentence, Moore will serve 18 months of probation, pay fines and court fees, abstain from alcohol, recreational marijuana, and illegal drugs under random testing, and continue mental health treatment. Additionally, he is prohibited from possessing weapons or having any form of contact with Shiver.

Former Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham was named as Moore’s replacement on December 26.
