Planning commission recommends rezoning deadly Givaudan explosion site

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The site of a deadly factory explosion in the Clifton neighborhood could soon be rezoned.

During a planning commission meeting on Thursday, some Louisville Metro leaders and neighbors said changing the zoning of the site that housed Givaudan could prevent further tragedies. An explosion at that site in November 2024 killed two workers, injured 11 others, and damaged several buildings and homes in the surrounding area.
