SHREWSBURY — On April 23 at approximately 1:57 p.m., the Shrewsbury Police Department received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash in the area of 727 Hartford Turnpike (Route 20).
Multiple Shrewsbury officers responded, as well as the Shrewsbury Fire Department and Worcester EMS personnel. Upon arrival, officers discovered a crash involving a Hyundai Elantra and a Mercedes SUV. The operator of the Hyundai was transported to a local hospital, where they were tragically pronounced deceased. The operator of the Mercedes was transported with minor injuries.
Hartford Turnpike was closed for several hours between South Street and Centech Boulevard due to the crash, and traffic was diverted. Several members from the CEMLEC (Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council) Crash Reconstruction team responded to the scene, and are investigating the crash…
