Woman faces life in shocking infant abuse case

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – A New York woman has been found guilty of raping and severely abusing an 11-month-old infant while staying at a hotel in Northeast Ohio.

A Summit County jury convicted Jamilee Hunt, 38, Friday on multiple felony charges, including rape of a child under 13, felonious assault and several counts of endangering children.

“Jamilee Hunt failed this child. She failed as a caretaker, a guardian, and a protector, and I am disturbed by her crimes and inability to take responsibility for her role in the abuse and torture of this infant,” said Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich.

Authorities said the abuse occurred while Hunt was staying with the child’s father, Jason Santos, 38, at a Red Roof Inn in Springfield Township. Santos pleaded guilty last week to related charges and was sentenced to life in prison…
