Triple Shooting in California Leaves Husband, Wife, and Third Victim Dead

Additional Coverage:

A tragic triple shooting early this morning in Baldwin Park, California, has left a husband, wife, and a third unidentified individual dead, with authorities investigating the possibility of a murder-suicide.

The incident occurred around 5 a.m. near the intersection of Millbury and Merced Avenues. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the victims include an 80-year-old man, who later died at the hospital, his 56-year-old wife, who was pronounced dead at the scene, and a third victim estimated to be between 60 and 70 years old. The relationship between the victims remains unclear, and no witnesses have come forward.

A neighbor who lives across the street recounted hearing gunshots early in the morning and expressed shock and fear. “I saw all this police and helicopters around the house, and I know those people because they live in front of my house,” she said, noting her acquaintance with the family.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s department as the investigation continues.

In a separate and equally devastating incident earlier this week, a former Army veteran in Shreveport, Louisiana, was responsible for a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of eight children, seven of whom were his own. The attack occurred across two homes in the neighborhood, marking one of the deadliest mass shootings in recent years.

The victims ranged in age from 3 to 11 years old. Police confirmed the children were all killed in the same residence.

The gunman, Shamar Elkins, later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the home of a mentor while being pursued by police. Two women, including Elkins’ wife, were critically injured in the attack.

These heartbreaking events highlight ongoing concerns about gun violence and its impact on families and communities across the nation.
