Conjoined Twins Speak Out on Love and Privacy Amid Intrusive Questions

Additional Coverage:

Conjoined twins Carmen and Lupita Andrade, aged 25, are openly addressing the personal and often intrusive questions they receive from followers about their unique situation. Taking to TikTok, they answered frequently asked questions, particularly responding to curiosity surrounding their bodies and intimate lives.

Lupita provided insight into how they manage sexual experiences, explaining that they share a reproductive system and both endured pain from endometriosis. She emphasized this to highlight why certain questions about their sex life are inappropriate.

Carmen also spoke about her marriage to Daniel McCormack, whom she wed in October 2024 following a four-year relationship that began on the dating app Hinge. Their wedding was an intimate ceremony held on Lover’s Leap Bridge in New Milford, Connecticut. Carmen clarified that Daniel is not “dating both of us,” while Lupita expressed that she is not interested in pursuing a partner.

The twins are joined at the torso, sharing several organs, though each has her own heart, lungs, and stomach. Carmen revealed that she does not want children, a sentiment her husband shares.

Discussing their relationship dynamics, Carmen emphasized the importance of communication and respect between the sisters. “If there’s anything Lupita isn’t comfortable with, even something like cuddling, we respect that,” she said. Carmen also noted that she is not naturally affectionate and that their relationship focuses more on spending quality time and sharing humor rather than constant displays of affection.

Regarding intimacy, Carmen explained, “We try to be respectful because Lupita is right there,” adding that she often uses headphones and her phone to maintain personal space. Lupita, who identifies as asexual, supports her sister’s relationship and choices.

Originally from Mexico, the twins moved to the United States at age two on a medical visa for potential separation surgery, which was ultimately deemed too risky. Since then, they have shared their lives publicly, appearing on talk shows and documentaries. In 2020, they starred in TLC’s reality series Extraordinary People in a special titled Conjoined Twins: Inseparable, which chronicled their experiences navigating high school, driving tests, and college.
