Two new cases of measles confirmed in Maryland residents with recent out-of-state travel

BALTIMORE, MD—Health officials in Maryland are warning residents of potential exposure to measles after two new cases were confirmed in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

The Maryland Department of Health announced Friday that the infected individuals are residents who recently returned from out-of-state travel to an area with active measles transmission. While the specific source of exposure remains under investigation, officials noted there is currently no known link between these cases and an international travel-related case reported in the state earlier this week.

Authorities have identified several public locations in Pasadena, Annapolis, Arnold, and Glen Burnie where others may have been exposed between April 12 and April 21.
