NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The Richneck Elementary School shooting criminal case moved forward Friday and is continuing to proceed.
Both sides attended a hearing in Newport News to work out some things ahead of next month’s trial for former assistant principal Dr. Ebony Parker.
Trial for former Richneck Elementary assistant principal delayed until May 2026
Parker is charged with 8 felony counts of child abuse in the January 2023 classroom shooting of former first-grade teacher Abby Zwerner by one of her six-year-old students. One for each bullet allegedly inside the gun that day.
