Man found competent to stand trial for fatal shooting of 15-year-old in Northwood

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — A 19-year-old Northwood man will stand trial in Wood County Common Pleas Court for the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old January after a treatment center’s report found him competent.

Jakob Heintzelman had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in March to reckless homicide and other charges in the death of Symini Moore.

A Wood County grand jury indicted Heintzelman in February on the homicide charge along with charges of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon and failure to comply with underage alcohol laws…
