Women of Route 66 panel in Tulsa to celebrate centennial and local legacy
TULSA, Okla. – As Route 66 marks its 100th anniversary, Tulsa is celebrating the historic highway with an event focused on the women who helped shape its story and those helping guide its future.
When is the panel?
The Women of Route 66 panel will take place April 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pocahontas Greadington Learning and Creativity Center inside Central Library.
What will the panel feature?
The event will feature Oklahoma author and speaker Annette LaFortune Murray, Oklahoma Arts Council member and speaker Rebecca Marks Jimerson, and Route 66 Centennial parade grand marshal and local business owner Mary Beth Babcock.
Organizers say the evening will highlight the role women have played in the history of Route 66 while also exploring efforts to preserve and revitalize the landmark for future generations.
